“If, at the end of my life, I do not see a long line of young apologists I have equipped behind me, I will have failed.”
-Mark Harrington, founder of Created Equal
Mark Harrington and Seth Drayer meet in Mark’s basement to launch Created Equal. Outreach at The Ohio State University soon follows to establish the Created Equal mission: equipping pro-life individuals with photographic evidence and conversational skills needed to save babies from abortion.
We unveil a massive TV screen at the National March for Life. For the first time, the victims of abortion are represented at the premier event in their honor not only in pictures but also large-scale video.
Our first pro-life mission trip is launched. Inspired by the Freedom Riders, the Justice Ride unites students eager to fight injustice. Wanting to bring lasting change, these students are equipped to change how people think and feel about abortion.
Finally out of the basement, we moved the growing organization into a split-level former residence in Columbus, OH. Board members and supporters are invited to our open house to celebrate. This would be Created Equal’s homebase for six years, when we would again outgrow our space.
A father-son abortionist team in Columbus, OH announces they will no longer do abortions. The Columbus Dispatch cites NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio Executive Director Kellie Copeland explaining their decision: “… leaflets calling them ‘killers’ have been distributed in their neighborhood, and protesters have picketed a hospital where they have admitting privileges …” These were steps in our Killers Among Us project, which, Copeland suggests, led to their decision to quit.
A growing staff allows us to deploy a team on the road for five weeks training pro-life individuals and leading outreach in six states: Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.
The next generation of video technology to rescue babies arrives in the form of mobile LED screens mounted to a pickup truck. The Mobile LED Truck’s first assignment: Drive around Detroit, showing a wide audience what abortion is, to support our ground team leading street outreach.
We partner with Cincinnati Right to Life to deploy a van outfitted with ultrasound technology stationed directly outside abortion facilities. Now moms crossing the border from pro-life states can see and hear their children. And during the first week of deployment, one baby was already saved!
Every week our team is on the frontlines, changing hearts and minds on abortion! And you can be a part of this story. Join our team. Come on a Justice Ride or Day of Action. Volunteer with us. Be part of this historic battle for human equality!
Help cover the operational expenses of our mobile pregnancy unit. A generous donor will double your donation if given before December 31, 2024.
Join the Justice Ride, our pro-life mission trip to Florida!
